CarNow names chief financial officer

Hired for the role is Tim O’Toole, whose background includes CFO roles with RapidMiner, Yotta, Dyn and Rapid7. Inaugural class of ‘Dealers Under 40’ honorees

Ford teams with Rice University researchers to recycle plastic from old vehicles

That new or late-model Ford Explorer you might be retailing could be made from some of that old Explorer that exhausted its lifespan. Rice University chemists are working with researchers at Ford and turning plastic parts from “end-of-life” vehicles into graphene via the university’s flash Joule heating process. The goal of the project led by Rice chemist James Tour and graduate student and lead author Kevin Wyss was to reuse that graphene to make enhanced polyurethane foam for new vehicles. As AAA reported ahead of Memorial Day weekend that the national average for a gallon of gasoline stood at $4.59 and all 50 states were above $4 per gallon, vehicle shoppers in America are more likely than ever to consider buying a fully electric vehicle.
